Q. What is the name brand of the saxophones you carry?
A. We carry “Saxophone.com” and “Gulf” saxophones, (that is the name on the bell of the saxophone).

Q. Where are your saxophones made?
A. Our saxophones are custom made for us by a factory in Houli, Taiwan.

Q. What are the saxophones made out of?
A.The saxophones are made out of brass, steel, leather, with some plastic (pearl key touches). The brass body and keys are then lacquered or electroplated to further protect the finish.

Q. What kind of brass are they made out of?
A. The saxophones are made out of the stronger high quality "yellow" brass that is 70% copper and 30% zinc. This is the same brass used in military artillery shell casings. We can special order a saxophone custom built from a different combination brass like 85% copper and 15% zinc (rich low brass).

Q. Do you carry other brand instruments?
A. Yes, through our affiliates we now carry Selmer, Yamaha, Keilwerth and Yanagisawa.

Q. How do your saxophones compare to Selmer, Yamaha, or Yanagisawa?
A.Our saxophones are about the quality between the Yamaha 52 series and the Yamaha 62 series.

Q. Is online ordering secure?
A. Yes! Saxophone.com employs technology called SSL (Secure Socket Layer) to ensure the highest level of security for your online transactions. All sensitive information (credit cards, phone numbers, addresses, etc.) is encrypted for transfer to our server. It won't be able to be intercepted and decrypted because the key resides only on our network servers.

Q. How do I make changes to an order?
A. You can add or delete items at any time during the order process before you give final confirmation of the order. After your order has been submitted, you can still change the order by contacting a Customer Service Associate @ 800-266-5729 or e-mail us requesting your order to be cancelled as long as it has not already been shipped.

Q. How much does it cost to ship to outside the US?
A. It depends on the destination country, weight and size of the package. Please give us your full address with postal code so we can email you a quote.

Q. How long does shipping take?
A. Shipping in the US takes between 2 to 6 days depending on your shipping zone.

Q. I ordered something two days ago; what is the status or tracking number of my order?
A. Please, check your email. Your tracking number was sent to the email address when your order was shipped.

Q. What is your return policy?
A. Return product within thirty (30) days of shipment date for a refund or exchange. Refunds are for the value of the equipment only. Both outbound and return shipping are your responsibility if an item is not purchased. Click here to view our complete return policy

Q. Do you offer financing or have a lay away plan?
A. We offer both. We offer financing with National Music Funding and we offer a lay away plan with 10% down on all Saxophones.


Q. Will you take a saxophone for trade?
A. No, we do not take trade-ins of other brands of saxophones.

Q. Do the different finishes such as silver, black nickel, or gold plating sound different?
A. There is hardly any difference at all. The different finishes are mostly cosmetic.

Q. Can I get a Saxophone.com saxophone in another color or finish?
A. Yes, you can custom order a saxophone built in any color or finish that we offer. Please, allow ten (10) to twelve (12) weeks for manufacturing and delivery
Q. Do you make a bass saxophone or contra bass saxophone?
Yes, we do offer two (2) bass saxophones through our affiliate partners, a Keilwerth SX90, and a Selmer 56 Super Action 80 Series II.


Q. You say it has MK VI (mark 6) or Super Action 80 fingering: what does this mean?
The saxophone fingering ergonomics are based on the Selmer Super Action 80 Series saxophone. The keys are angled for a comfortable ergonomic hand position.

Q. Does it have a high F# key? (F sharp)
Yes, all of our saxophones except the sopranino have high F# keys. (F sharp)

Q. What does the high F# key do?
A. It is a new key that allows you to play the highest note on the sax (F#).

Q.What does the saxophone come with?
The saxophone comes with a mouthpiece, ligature (attaches the reed to the mouthpiece), mouthpiece cap, neck strap, and case.

Q. Do you carry mouthpieces?
Yes, we have started carrying Rico Royal mouthpieces as a $15 upgrade on our saxophones. They are sold separately for $25. It is also possible to special order some Bobby Dukoff, Berg Larsen, Meyer, Otto Link, Claude Lakey, Vandoren, and Portnoy mouthpieces.

Q. Do you carry reeds?
Yes, we have a wide variety of saxophone reeds including Rico, Rico Royal, Rico Jazz Select, Rico Plasticover, Vandoren, Vandoren Java, Vandoren V16, Vandoren ZZ, as well as, Fibracell synthetic reeds.
